Manchester United fans have been left dismayed after tickets for the club's friendly against Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium sold-out within minutes this morning.

Man United is set to play against Athletic Bilbao on August 6. Tickets went on general sale this morning with tickets snapped up quickly, reports the Irish Mirror.

It's only the third time in 13 years that Manchester United have come to Irish shores for a match. But dozens of fans have now been left disappointed after they failed to pick up tickets for the match on August 7 in the Aviva Stadium.

Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment. One person wrote on Twitter: "Were there no tickets made available for the Manchester United game in the Aviva?

"I was queueing and at 12pm it said couldn’t find the tickets I searched for?"

A second added: "That smart queue is a joke.....twice I had tickets in my basket during presale only for this error to come up when I was trying to checkout...."

A third person noted that tickets for the Man United v Bilbao game was "sold Out in 9mins this morning, 52,000 tickets." A fourth person was left furious after they picked up four tickets and were halfway through paying when it failed to go through.

They said: "hi I had 4 tickets for the man United and Bilbao game and half way through paying it says there not available, think this is a disgrace as our tickets are now gone and had a hotel and everything booked."

Man United is set to to begin their Premier League season with a home clash against Wolves on Monday, August 14.
