Manchester United eye surprise move for Leeds United star and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are surprisingly monitoring Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams - according to reports.

Adams, 23, made his name during three years in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig and only touched down at Elland Road during the summer transfer window. However, despite that and the intense rivalry between those two sides, the United States international is claimed to be on the radar for Erik ten Hag.

Football Insider are reporting that Ten Hag is keeping tabs on the player and his interest in Adams dates back to when the €17million man was in Germany. Effectively signed as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips - who headed to Manchester City this summer - Adams has played 11 games in the Premier League this season.

Adams was welcomed to Elland Road on a five-year contract. United sealed five permanent transfers this summer, meanwhile, after Ten Hag was sworn in from Ajax, with Martin Dubravka signing on loan to offset Dean Henderson heading to Nottingham Forest in a similar agreement.

Elsewhere, reports from Spanish publication Fichajes suggest United could revive their interest in RB Leipzig star Amadou Haidara, who was heavily linked with the club when Ralf Rangnick was interim manager. Haidara, 24, has made 18 appearances for the Bundesliga side in all competitions this season.

By trade Haidara is a box-to-box midfielder and United might look for additional reinforcements for that position. Despite making Frenkie de Jong their priority target this summer, he stayed put at Barcelona and United switched attention to a more defensive-minded recruit in Casemiro.

Haidara is under contract at Leipzig until 2025. He previously represented RB Salzburg in Austria.
