Manchester United 'eye' Erik ten Hag favourite as Anthony Martial replacement and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have added Ajax striker Brian Brobbey to their shortlist of players they could replace Anthony Martial with next summer - according to reports.

After eight seasons with the club, Manchester Evening News understands that United are open to selling Martial as they strive to generate funds for their ongoing rebuild. United defenders Harry Maguire and Alex Telles could also be moved on.

England captain Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen from Napoli are being tracked in attacking quarters as United target a long-term striker. However, reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Brobbey could be pursued as a back-up option due to his existing relationship with manager Erik ten Hag.

Brobbey, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before, returned to Ajax permanently last summer after he struggled to settle with RB Leipzig. He has recaptured his form this season, though, with 10 goals from 19 games in the Eredivisie alone.

His contract runs until 2027. It's unclear what sort of fee he would command.

Elsewhere, reports from Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Italian giants Juventus have made former United target Adrien Rabiot available for transfer. Rabiot came close to signing for United this season after the long-standing chase for Barcelona playmaker Frenkie de Jong did not materialise.

However, the France player also saw his would-be transfer fall through and Ten Hag signed Casemiro instead. Juventus are making plans to revamp their squad. In addition to Rabiot, the club are understood to be open to letting Angel Di Maria, Alex Sandro, Leandro Paredes and Juan Cuadrado go elsewhere.
