Manchester United confirm selection blow ahead of Brentford fixture

Manchester United will be without Aaron Wan-Bissaka when they face Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The English right-back missed the weekend draw against Aston Villa through illness and continues to be sidelined by the same issue this week.

Wan-Bissaka, 24, is also a doubt for the Premier League home match against West Ham on Saturday with Diogo Dalot expected to keep his place in the side.

Speaking with club media ahead of the trip to face Brentford, interim manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed the early setback with Wan-Bissaka set to miss three matches in the space of eight days.

“No, not (available) yet. He’s still ill, I’m afraid," Rangnick told MUTV.

“He will not be available for the game tomorrow and also probably not available for the West Ham game. Hopefully, after the international break, he will be back for training.”

United will enjoy a fixture break after they face West Ham this weekend, United will enjoy a fixture break, meaning the next match Wan-Bissaka might be available is the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Middlesbrough on Friday 4 February.

The former Crystal Palace defender has made 15 starts in the Premier League this term, taking his overall tally to 84 appearances for United in the competition.
