Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Toby Collyer from Brighton.
Collyer joins United on a three-and-a-half-year deal after failing to agree terms on a new contract with Brighton. It's understood that Collyer, 18, impressed while on trial with United last month. The defensive midfielder caught the eye of United coaches with his performance in a friendly game against Huddersfield Town and talks progressed from there.
The highly-rated teenager has captained England at U16 and U17 level and he'll continue his development in United's academy. "Delighted to join this great club, can’t wait to get started," Collyer wrote on social media after the deal was complete.

Collyer has played just once this season in Brighton's academy, but he was a key player for the south coast side last season, making a total of 25 appearances for both their U18 and U23 sides, playing just over 2000 minutes.
Chelsea were said to be interested in signing Collyer before United acted on their interest in the player.
