Manchester United want to sign Ivan Toney to replace Cristiano Ronaldo - according to reports.
Speculation over Ronaldo and his Old Trafford future has returned to the fore after the Portugal captain sat down with media figure Piers Morgan for a jaw-dropping interview. During that bombshell chat, Ronaldo said he thought he had been "betrayed" by United and their manager Erik ten Hag this season.
Ronaldo expressed a desire to leave the club for a second time this summer. However, with no takers for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, he was forced to stay put and has played a bit-part role since.

With only three goals to his name in all competitions this season, the 37-year-old is preparing for World Cup duty, but will he return to Old Trafford next month? Among several potential candidates to replace him, reports deriving from several outlets suggest Brentford striker Toney is the preferred choice for Ten Hag.
Toney has scored ten goals in the Premier League this season. He was overlooked for World Cup selection, though, with £50million underlined as a possible fee for the 26-year-old frontman.
Elsewhere, reports from transfer expert Rudy Galetti claim United will revive their interest in Jurrien Timber during the January and summer windows. Timber, 21, was wanted by the Old Trafford giants this summer - but he resisted any temptation to follow Ten Hag from Ajax to Manchester.
United went on to sign former teammate Lisandro Martinez and he has been a shining light this term. Others to be welcomed through the door were Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Antony with Martin Dubravka also signed on-loan to offset Dean Henderson leaving for Nottingham Forest in a similar agreement.
Galetti identifies Timber as a possible replacement for captain Harry Maguire.
