The Premier League is to reportedly restructure its usual Christmas schedule in light of this year’s World Cup being held during the winter.
The tournament begins on November 21 with the final being held on December 18. The Premier League is due to commence a week earlier than usual on August 6 before it pauses on November 13.
It will resume on Boxing Day, which will be one of just three matchdays during the festive season. The December and January calendar is usually crammed with matches but this year, fixtures will only be played on December 26, December 29 and January 1, according to The Telegraph.
