Manchester Psych Fest returns next week with hub at Oxford Road’s Circle Square

Manchester Psych Fest, the UK’s leading psychedelic music and arts festival, is launching a new hub: ‘Mushroom Fields’ at Oxford Road’s Circle Square. The event, a one day festival on September 3, will offer visual art, street food and music.

The festival’s musical line up will take over venues along Oxford Road including the Albert Hall, O2 Ritz and Deaf Institute, offering music from artists including Kurt Vile & The Violators, The Coral, Goat Girl and many others.

Now in its ninth year, the Manchester Psych Fest will be, for the first time, offering a limited edition Psych Fest Mango IPA by award-winning Manchester brewery, First Chop, at the bar in Mushroom Fields. The street food on offer will also include some Manchester favourites: This Charming Naan, Tahi, Hello Oriental and The Holy Mountain Kitchen.

However, if you’re after some exciting art, the festival is showcasing the murals and sculptures from local female artists including Ermitsmoze (Rebecca Miller), Lindsay Johnstone & Sveggs_ink (Sophie Egleton) as well as a ‘history of Manchester Psych Fest art’ and a NFT takeover from digital art marketplace KnownOrigin.

Manchester Psych Fest will also be working with Art of Protest Projects, the carbon literate urban and street art production group behind street art projects in York and Doncaster. Here at ‘Mushroom Fields’ the team will be building several large scale structures.
