Manchester-based youth football coach Rachel Robinson has been crowned the National Grassroots Coach of the Year by the FA.
Robinson, who coaches at Urmston FC, claimed the prestigious Grassroots Coach of the Year for Youth award for all her positive work at the Greater Manchester club, where she is the only female coach.
Robinson was handed the accolade by former England international and former Man United Women star Siobhan Chamberlain on Saturday, July 30, ahead of Liverpool's 3-1 Community Shield victory over Manchester City as part of the 2022 England Football & McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards national ceremony. At half-time at the King Power Stadium, Robinson and the other winners were presented to the capacity crowd.

England World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst said: “Rachel Robinson is exactly the type of person that encapsulates what we love about football, the support and community Rachel has built is truly inspirational.
"That’s why I’m so proud to be here at the King Power stadium to honour these incredible winners. Rachel should be extremely proud of her accomplishments."
Robinson has been a coach at Urmston FC for over four years and has worked with countless children in that time, while always striving to be a positive influence on the players. She has earned praise for her dedication and commitment as well as for always going above and beyond to help her players improve and ensure they enjoy their football.
