A Manchester teen has gone viral on TikTok after tipping off shoppers about an affordable Amazon purchase that saved her a fortune in luggage costs. Lily Thompstone, 19, shared a video telling followers they ‘need’ the bag, which racked up nearly four million views overnight.
Lily was on her way to a three night stay in Prague with fellow flyer, Callum, when she shared the bag that exactly matched Ryanair’s requirements for a small bag, meaning she wouldn’t have to pay to take it on board, as it was her only luggage.
Had it been any bigger, Lily may have been forced to pay between £6 and £50 for extra baggage charges, or pay a gate charge fee.

In the video, Callum can be seen placing the bag into the box - and it fits exactly. Lily says off camera: “What do we call that, Callum?” To which he responds: “Perfect.”
After retrieving the bag and heading to their flight, Lily added: “The lady just looked at us like there’s not a chance… It’s perfect. You need these of Amazon.”
The Ryanair small bag allowance permits a bag sized 40cm by 20cm by 25cm, and must be able to fit under the seat in front of you on the plane. Lily and Callum used the bags for their three nights in Prague, with the Manchester teen commenting: “I can’t believe these bags work!”
Lily shared a link to the bags on her profile, and commenters have rushed to buy them for their own short breaks in 2023, saying they fit in absolutely everything they need for three days.
Samantha Fagan said: “I used this mid-December for a three night trip. Managed three day outfits, four night outfits, three bikinis, two pairs of sandals plus chargers etc - winning!”
Kelly Weston added: “Got these a few days ago ready for Amsterdam!”
Another commented: “I just used one of these to go to Krakow they’re so good.”
While Kate wrote: “I ordered it as I booked a last minute trip and it fits EVERYTHING.”
The bags cost £11.99 on Amazon, and have been used by dozens of Ryanair flyers for their trips, with shoppers saying they’re the ‘perfect’ size.
One said: “I bought 2 of these for hand luggage as we were travelling with Ryanair, they are the perfect size and fit perfectly under the seats.”
Another added: “The bag is absolutely perfect as a carry on for Ryanair! It’s deceivingly spacious-I used it for a 4 day trip (with hair straighteners and a second pair of shoes also chucked in there). I would highly recommend. So much so that I just bought my daughter the blue version for sleepovers.”
