Manchester City vs Liverpool prediction, odds and team news

Having both booked their spots in the Champions League semi-finals, Manchester City and Liverpool renew hostilities at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides played out a pulsating 2-2 draw in last weekend's Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium and will both be bidding for a spot in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Crystal Palace.

Man City were in the wars against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night - Phil Foden's bandaged head was evidence of that - and Pep Guardiola also lost Kyle Walker to an ankle injury on the night.

In contrast, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp should once again be working with a full complement of options after his players came through the second leg with Benfica unscathed, and a number of first-teamers are primed to return.

Ahead of the game, our tipster Robert Mann takes a look at some of the best bets from Manchester City vs Liverpool to get your teeth stuck into.

Manchester City vs Liverpool betting tips & predictions

Manchester City are 23/20 to win, with Liverpool priced at 21/10 to come away with the victory. A draw is priced at 11/5.

Prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1 (17/2)

To win in 90 minutes: Liverpool (7/4)

Manchester City should have killed the game off against Liverpool early doors last week, but injuries to key players during a clash with Atletico Madrid has undoubtedly handed Liverpool the advantage.

While Guardiola's side left it all out on the Wanda Metropolitano turf, Klopp was able to give a good number of his big-hitters the night off, and the fresh legs of a free-scoring Liverpool side can once again carve their way through the City backline to advance to the final.

Anytime Goalscorer: Kevin De Bruyne (15/8)

De Bruyne is often City’s most dangerous player and is expected to step up for his side in this fixture, however, an ankle injury could keep the Belgian at bay.

The midfielder has averaged 3.10 shots per game this season. In fact, he has surpassed the 3 shots per game average in each of his last three campaigns - could one of those shots convert into a goal on Saturday?

Under/Over Goals: Under 2.5 Goals (11/10)

This is a fixture that usually produces goals based on the way both teams like to play but with so much riding on the game, we're expecting a much more tight and tense 90 minutes in London.

Under 2.5 goals have been produced in four of Man City's last six fixtures, two of which have ended goalless, while five of Liverpool's last six outings have also witnessed fewer than three goals scored.

Odds are correct at the time of publication and are, as always, subject to change.

Manchester City team news

Man City were in the wars against Atletico on Wednesday night - Phil Foden's bandaged head was evidence of that - and Guardiola also lost Kyle Walker to an ankle injury on the night.

Guardiola claimed that the injuries left his side in "big trouble" before the semi-final, but Ruben Dias was fit enough to make the bench at the Wanda Metropolitano, and Gabriel Jesus is back from a European suspension.

Manchester City possible starting lineup:

Ederson; Cancelo, Stones, Laporte, Ake; Silva, Rodri, Gundogan; Jesus, Sterling, Grealish

Liverpool team news

In contrast, Liverpool boss Klopp should once again be working with a full complement of options after his players came through the second leg with Benfica unscathed, and a number of first-teamers are primed to return after midweek rests.

Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are set for recalls to the backline, while Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara both came off the bench against Benfica and should feature from the off here.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane
