Man City XI vs Liverpool: Haaland starts - Starting lineup, confirmed team news for Community Shield today

Manchester City are missing Aymeric Laporte as they prepare to face Liverpool in the Community Shield in Leicester this afternoon.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed the Spanish international will likely miss a month or so of action after undergoing knee surgery following City’s Premier League title-winning campaign, leaving the champions somewhat light in that department.

Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake start in the centre of defence at the King Power Stadium today.

The big news is that Erling Haaland starts for Guardiola’s side. Already on the scoresheet in City colours after netting on his debut against Bayern Munich, the summer signing gets his chance to shine against Liverpool from the off.
