Manchester City have ‘deal in place’ to complete blockbuster Erling Haaland transfer

Manchester City have “a deal in place” to sign Erling Haaland at the end of the season, according to The Daily Mail.

While Pep Guardiola’s do not seem to struggling in the absence of a traditional centre-forward following the exit of Sergio Aguero and failed move for Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Haaland is believed to have emerged as a major transfer target.

One of the most in-demand players in Europe, the 21-year-old is now reportedly expected to move to City at the end of the season with the Premier League champions thought to have beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona to Haaland’s capture.

The total cost of the deal could be worth as much as £100m following a £63m transfer fee, signing on bonus and agent fee for Mino Raiola.

Should the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has scored 23 goals in 20 appearances across all club competitions this season, move to City, it would surely end any chase for Kane.

The England captain, despite his return to form of late, remains under contract at Spurs until the summer of 2024 and, at 28, does not have time on his side.
