The Premier League champions let a 3-0 lead slip to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord, as a late flurry from the Dutch side cancelled out an Erling Haaland brace and Ilkay Gundogan strike.
After a cagey first-half, Manchester City finally broke the deadlock just before the break as Erling Haaland found the target from the penalty spot.
Pep Guardiola’s side made a much better start to the second-half, as Ilkay Gundogan scored his second European goal this season to double City’s lead.
Just three minutes later Haaland scored his second of the game as the Norway international latched on to a ball from Matheus Nunes before slotting into the bottom left corner.
City looked to be in cruise control but Feyenoord had other ideas, as Anis Hadj Moussa took advantage of a defensive error to pull one back for the visitors.
Things got even more interesting just seven minutes later, as substitute Santiago Jimenez scored Feyenoord’s second from close range.
Then, the unthinkable happened, as Manchester City let their 3-0 lead slip to a 3-3 draw thanks to a header from David Hancko.
