The older brother of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi is due to appear at court accused of failing to comply with a requirement to give evidence at the public inquiry into the terror attack. Ishmale Abedi is accused of breaching a section 21 notice that required him to attend the inquiry on October 21 last year.
Abedi, also known as Ishmale Ben Romdhan, has been summonsed to appear at Manchester magistrates' court on Friday. The summons was issued by the inquiry chairman Sir John Saunders.

If proved, a failure to comply with a section 21 notice carries a maximum penalty of 51 weeks imprisonment. Salman Abedi detonated a suicide bomb following an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena in May 2017, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds more.
A second brother Hashem, is serving life in prison for helping build the bomb.
