Manchester Airport bosses have issued a warning to passengers due to travel between now and the New Year.
A tweet from the airport's official account on Monday said passengers may experience longer queues than normal. It comes as the Public and Commercial Service (PCS) union has announced Civil Service industrial action that will impact Border Force services.
Border Force staff at airports are due to walk out on December 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31, in a row over pay.

Manchester Airport said: "Passengers travelling back into Manchester Airport on [the above dates] may experience longer immigration queues than normal due to strike action being taken by UK Border Force officers at several UK ports. At Manchester Airport, we do not anticipate any cancellations and passengers do not need to change their travel plans unless otherwise advised by their airline.

The Government said travellers may face longer wait times, and that it encourages all passengers eligible to use eGates to do so. IT added: "Please be patient and respect officers who are working to keep the UK border safe and secure for all travellers during strike action."
