Manchester Airport's Terminal Three will fully reopen this week to meet demand which has led to huge queues, delays and misery for passengers over recent months. Terminal Three, which was closed during the pandemic, has been partially reopen since March 27 for some arriving passengers, but will reopen fully on Friday (April 22).
All passengers flying out with Aurigny, British Airways, Eastern Airways, Iberia Express, Loganair, Ryanair and Vueling will check in at the Terminal Three entrance. All arrivals into the airport with those airlines will also go through the Terminal Three building.
It follows a fraught start to the week for the hub, as 'Manic Monday' meant passengers were faced with queues of up to 90 minutes through security, while travellers flying with TUI also experienced long delays. It comes after hub boss Charlie Cornish warned in a frank apology that, due to staff shortages, they would be unable to give passengers 'the level of service they deserve' over the coming months, until the workforce had been bolstered.
Restaurants and bars in Terminal Three will also open their doors from that date. Landside, that includes WHSmiths and Travelex in Arrivals at ground level as well as Cafe Nerro at Check-in. Airside, there will be a Boots, Costa, WHSmith, Duty Free, Lion & Antelope, Pork & Pickle, KFC, Nook and Kiosco.
Despite the boost in capacity, passengers are still asked to arrive three hours before their flight and remember the rules for security. They include having large electronic items out and ensuring all liquids, gels and pastes are under 100ml and in a clear re-sealable bag.
Even though the UK government has now scrapped Covid-19 travel restrictions, passengers are still reminded to check the advice for the country they are travelling to in advance of departure. Passengers with specific queries about their flights should contact their airline directly.
As part of its recovery hundreds of jobs are still available across the airport site to meet the increased passenger demand. There are still a number of jobs on offer with Manchester Airport. For roles with third parties look directly on their websites or local job sites.
