Manchester Airport driver parked on hard shoulder to dodge parking charges

A driver who thought he could dodge paying for parking by stopping on the hard shoulder at Manchester Airport instead was reported for traffic offences.

The motorist parked up at the side of the motorway while waiting to collect arrivals, but instead ended up being issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR), reported the M. E. N. In a post on North West Motorway Police's Twitter feed earlier today (Saturday), they said: "Driver seen by ME54 stopped on hard shoulder at Manchester Airport waiting to collect people - TOR issued."

Meanwhile a second driver was issued with a warning notice for having stopped improperly on motorways – this time after running out of petrol on the M60. Police said the driver ran out of fuel and brought the vehicle to a halt in a "live" line.
