A poultry catcher attacked a policeman who was called to his family home after an argument over Christmas. Martin Taylor, 24, was living at Hadfield Walk, Oak Tree, an area of Mansfield, when the incident kicked off on Boxing Day.
It began when his mother, Dawn Taylor, returned home from work. Her son, Martin, said: "We need to talk about Christmas, as no one made me a Christmas meal".
But his mum said she would talk to him later and went to bed, Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard on Wednesday (December 28). She was woken by Taylor shouting, saying, "I know you are awake. My Christmas has been ruined because of you".

She called police at 1pm after her son damaged glass in a door. He then grabbed one officer, pushed him to the floor and punched him in the face, causing mild swelling. Treve Lander, mitigating, said the defendant had lived with his mother and father all his life in Mansfield.
Martin Taylor had gone through family troubles after his parents separated. His mother went out on Christmas Day, said Mr Lander, and the defendant was left on his own and made his own Christmas dinner.
"He does say, 'why was I left out of Christmas completely?", added Mr Lander. After spending two nights in police cells, Taylor pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable by beating him and damaging a glass pane in a door at Hadfield Walk.
He was bailed with conditions not to go to his address, with the exception of attending there with police to collect his belongings. He is banned from contacting his mum, and must appear at Mansfield Magistrate's Court on January 19 after a probation report has been prepared.
