A man “armed with a knife” was Tasered by police after being spotted “behaving erratically” close to the Houses of Parliament.
Footage posted to social media appears to show a man on the floor with armed officers surrounding him shortly before midday on Friday.
Witnesses claimed they saw at least eight officers challenge the young man who was reportedly wearing a stab-proof vest.
Some officers drew their assault rifles before tackling him to the floor and placing him in handcuffs.
There are no injuries reported, Scotland Yard said.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At around 11.50am on Friday, 21 October a man was seen behaving erratically in the SW1 area. He was stopped by armed officers on Millbank.
“Police taser was discharged and the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He has been taken into custody.
“There have been no reports of any injuries.”
