Man with autism spent two years saving coins to donate 160 boxes of crayons to school children in Philippines

For more than two years, Christopher “Chris” Francisco quietly followed a routine that many people in his hometown did not fully understand. The 32-year-old from Balete, Aklan, would often ask neighbours and acquaintances for just ₱5 at a time, politely declining larger amounts. To some, it seemed unusual. To Chris, it was part of a carefully planned mission. By 2022, he had accumulated enough savings to purchase 160 boxes of crayons, which he personally donated to pupils at Calizo Elementary School and students at Calizo National High School. His gift was not funded by wealth, sponsorships or public campaigns. It came from years of patience and determination. The story of Chris offers a rare glimpse into how small acts, repeated consistently over time, can create a meaningful impact for hundreds of children beginning a new school year. His generosity serves as a powerful reminder that lasting change often begins not with grand gestures, but with a clear purpose and unwavering commitment to helping others.
