Man who strangled and slammed woman's head into wall in Whitemoor jailed

A man who strangled a woman and then slammed her head into a kitchen wall has been jailed. Julian Mead assaulted the woman after an argument in her home in the Whitemoor area of Nottingham, on October 18, 2021.

She tried to push the 38-year-old away after he had put his arm around her neck and strangled her. After releasing her neck, he grabbed the back of her head and forced it into the wall, causing her pain to her head and neck, before she fell to the floor.

Mead, of Hanslope Crescent, Bilborough, went on to plead guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and he was sentenced to 12 months in prison when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, April 25. He was also made the subject of a three-year restraining order.
