A man who was evicted from the flat where he lived after his mum died from cancer now cries himself to sleep at night living rough on the streets. James Nye, 26, was unable to keep his mum's tenancy and was, he claimed, served with an eviction notice.
He spoke to LeedsLive about how his life has spiralled after his mum died in March following a year-long battle. LeedsLive spoke to him in Leeds city centre at around noon on a weekday.
They found him lying across a bed of flowers outside a hotel, crumpled in his sleeping bag, his bearded unkempt face centimetres away from the flowers bed. Sleeping rough has been tough and he admitted to smoking cannabis "now and again" to get through the days.
