Man who created Grand Designs' 'saddest ever' build feels guilty after leaving ex-wife 'with nothing'

Edward Short says he feels guilty after his ex wife was left with nothing and admitted to "pulling the stability rug from under them" in order to fulfil his dream.

Edward appeared on what has been dubbed Grand Designs' " saddest ever episode " as he took on the task of creating his dream home at Chesil Cliff House. He now has opened up on the fact that he feels a lot of guilt for what he put his ex wife Hazel through and is determined to repay her.

The couple ended their 20-year marriage during the renovation of the £10 million house, which sits between Saunton Sands and Croyde Beach, writes The Mirror. Edward initially budgeted £1.8 million for the project, but the couple were plunged into debt after they blew a whopping £6 million.
