A man involved in a smash in Harpurhey on Thursday evening was later found with a gun and machete when searched. Officers cornered the man along Rochdale Road, by the gates to Queen's Park, in the north Manchester town.
The male was arrested after failing to provide a breath sample at the scene. He was arrested and his silver VW was searched by officers.
They found a gun - which cops later discovered to be blank firing - in his jacket. They then searched his vehicle, where they discovered a machete on the passenger side, a slingshot and ball bearings.
