A homeowner given planning permission to erect a garage, but instead built a two-storey detached house has been ordered to tear it down.
The man had council approval to build a single-storey garage on the driveway attached to his semi-detached home but actually put up a house, with a regular front door, windows and two floors.
Birmingham City Council ordered the owner to demolish the dwelling for being in breach the original planning permission and gave him till July this year to do so. However the house remains standing.
