A man who avoided jail after pouring vodka on his girlfriend and threatening to set her alight murdered her just two weeks later.
Robert Massey hurled vile abuse at Jacqueline Forest while attempting to kick down her front door in mid-August. By the end of the month, she was dead, having been strangled, stabbed and had profanities drawn over her skin.
Liverpool Crown Court heard this week that the 49-year-old victim had been in a relationship with the defendant since the summer of 2020 and he had spent time living at her home on Piele Road in Haydock.
