Manchester United's hierarchy will look to secure the long-term futures of Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford in the wake of extending Bruno Fernandes stay until 2026.
The Portuguese midfielder has put an end to any speculation linking him with a move away from Old Trafford and put pen to paper on a new deal, his first extension since joining the club back in January of 2020. Rashford and Shaw have both been in similar situations in recent weeks where talks over a potential exit have hung over the pair of them.
However, the duo of England internationals are highly thought of by those at the top at Old Trafford. Despite the fact there remains uncertainty over who will be the next permanent manager, both are set for talks over extensions, according to ESPN.
United officials will be hoping Rashford and Shaw are as keen on extending as Fernandes was, who gave an optimistic update to fans following news of his new deal.
"From the moment that I joined Manchester United I have had a special relationship with the Club and our amazing fans. I grew up watching this team, dreaming of getting the chance to play here one day. That dream is now a reality and an honour," the Portugal international told the club website.
"Even after two years, it still feels amazing to step out at Old Trafford, to hear the fans sing my song and to score in front of the Stretford End. It is a true privilege to wear this shirt and to fight for our incredible club.

"There is so much more that I want to achieve here, and I know that is the same for the rest of the squad and staff. More than anything, we want to give the fans the success that they deserve. We have shared some great moments over the last years, but the best is yet to come from myself and this team."
Both Rashford and Shaw will see their current contracts expire at the end of next season. That means this summer is realistically the last time United can expect to cash-in on the pair if they have no intention of signing a new deal.
United are clearly getting their house in order before the eventual arrival of a new manager, having also extended the contract of youngster Tahith Chong. The club have triggered a clause in his deal which will see him remain on the books until at least next summer.
