Manchester United transfer target Benjamin Pavard is not short of confidence and has already declared he is "more complete" than Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Bayern Munich man has been linked with a move to Old Trafford over recent days with reports claiming that the Red Devils ‘have indicated’ that he is on ‘their recruitment list '.
United are in the market for a defender despite the signing of Lisandro Martinez, with a right-sided player seemingly on their summer shopping list. Pavard would certainly fit that remit having played as a centre-back and right-back at the Allianz Arena.
He could also be available to buy, as the German giants have agreed a big-money deal with Juventus for Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt.
Ahead of any potential move to Old Trafford, French international Pavard has already endeared himself to United fans by claiming that he is a more accomplished player than Alexander-Arnold.
Speaking midway through last season, he said: “A defender must first defend well. On paper, Pavard may be less sexy than [Achraf] Hakimi, [Trent Alexander] Arnold, but I find that defensively I am more complete.”

Pavard at first made a name for himself at the 2018 World Cup in Russia having previously represented Stuttgart. That led to a switch to Bayern Munich and despite the Frenchman now being a three-time Bundesliga winner, he has fallen somewhat out of the first-team picture over recent seasons.
Having been utilised at right-back and centre-back, Pavard says that his natural position is at the heart of defence. This may cause trouble ahead of a potential move to United, as the Red Devils are well-stocked in central positions.
He continued: “My position is a central defender. It always has been, this is where I feel most comfortable, where I take the most pleasure.
“This is where I find myself the best. I think we see more of my qualities in this position. If the great coaches put me on the right side, it is because they have confidence in my abilities.”
Pavard has two years remaining on his current contract at the Allianz Arena having been signed for around £31million. The Red Devils will face competition from elsewhere in the Premier League and beyond should they attempt to sign him, with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Juventus credited with an interest.
He could potentially become the Red Devils’ third defensive addition following the arrival of Erik ten Hag after deals were agreed to sign Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez from Feyenoord and Ajax respectively.
