Manchester United hauled themselves back into top four contention with a late victory against West Ham.
Marcus Rashford’s close range finish in the dying seconds secured another vital three points against the Hammers.
Arsenal ’s surprising 0-0 draw at home to Burnley, means United’s noses are currently ahead of the Gunners, who are now languishing in seventh position.
Ralf Rangnick is yet to add any new names to his current squad, as his focus appears to be on shifting some of their fringe options onto pastures new.
And with just over a week to go of the January Transfer window, Mirror Football considers three of the latest rumours around Old Trafford.
Defensive duo for sale
Have Your Say! Do you think Man Utd should sell Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka? Comment here.
Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be sold by United in the summer, according to reports.
Both stars were signed at a whopping combined cost of £130million during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ’s reign at Old Trafford.
However, both players have struggled for form, consistency, and perhaps confidence, as United’s season experienced a dramatic downwards spiral in Solskjaer’s final months.
While Maguire has been a mainstay under Rangnick, Wan-Bissaka has been displaced by Diogo Dalot.
And reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes claim United could be set to cut their losses with the English duo, as Rangnick has reportedly recommended the club to sell the pair.
It is also believed the United are nervous about the prospect of selling them, due to the huge transfer fees they respectively cost the club.
Valverde asking price
Real Madrid have purportedly slapped a £62m price tag on the heard of midfielder Federico Valverde.
The Uruguayan international burst onto the scene under former manager Zinedine Zidane, and quickly impressed the footballing world with his silky performances from midfield.
However, he has since fallen out of favour under Ancelotti, only starting 10 league matches for Los Blancos.
And Manchester United could be given the green light to sign him if they bid £62m, according to Spanish outlet El Nacional.
Midfield is believed to be the area United want to strengthen most, having been linked with the likes of Declan Rice and many more.
Real Madrid are still believed to be interested in signing Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland; therefore, the report claims Valverde’s sale could potentially be put towards those transfer endeavours.
Two way battle for Martial
Sevilla and Juventus are reportedly both competing for Anthony Martial's signature.
The Frenchman appears to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford having fallen behind Rashford, Anthony Elanga, Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Bruno Fernandes, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the pecking order.
Boxing Day reports from ESPN claimed Martial was looking for an exit from Old Trafford this month.
And reports from Calciomercato understand Juventus and Sevilla are battling each other for his signature.
Martial has been linked with a move to Sevilla for a very long time, and Juventus are believed to be looking for a new attacking option to make up for Federico Chiesa's injury.
