Manchester United remain linked with a number of players around Europe as Erik ten Hag attempts to add to his squad.
The Red Devils have been much-improved since the arrival of the Dutchman at Old Trafford in the summer and they are now firmly embroiled in the fight to earn a place in the Champions League come the end of the campaign. A striker is on Ten Hag’s shopping list following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, a number of players could be set to wave goodbye to the club with the side’s cloth expected to be cut between now and the end of the month. With that being said, Mirror Sport brings you the latest transfer rumours coming out of Old Trafford over the past 24 hours.
Depay eyes Old Trafford return
One man who could potentially be drafted in to bolster the Red Devils’ attack this winter is ironically former forward Memphis Depay. The Dutchman has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona this season following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, the former Lyon striker has been left frustrated by the lack of game time afforded to him this term by Xavi and is considering leaving the Camp Nou in an effort to get his career back on track. The Red Devils have been linked before and it appears that a move could come to fruition.
As per the reports, Depay wants to rejoin his former club despite his difficult first spell. The now 28-year-old made 53 appearances for the club having been signed from PSV and netted just seven goals.
Skriniar ‘meeting’ scheduled
Whilst the frontline looks set to be bolstered, a new defender could also arrive at Old Trafford. As per Media Foot, the Red Devils are planning on holding a meeting with the representatives of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar ahead of a potential switch.
The 27-year-old has been a key player at the San Siro since a 2017 arrival from Sampdoria but could soon bid farewell to the Italian giants with his contract set to expire come the end of the campaign.
United are apparently set to hold a meeting with his agents to see if they can match Skriniar demands as he eyes a move to the Premier League.

Choupo-Moting interest ‘concrete’
Whilst Skriniar would be a bargain arrival whether that be in January or in the summer, the same could certainly be said of Bayern Munich star Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Cameroonian striker has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford and as per Sky in Germany, the Red Devils’ interest in him is ‘concrete’.
Like Skriniar, he would be available on a free transfer come the end of the season. There could be one problem should United attempt to sign him though and that is Bayern Munich remaining keen to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.
The 33-year-old has 11 goals in 16 appearances this season having joined the German giants from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020.
