Man Utd predicted line-up vs West Ham as Marcus Rashford decision set to be made

Manchester United will be hoping to qualify for the FA Cup quarter-final when they take on West Ham at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils lifted their first major trophy for six years on the weekend as they beat Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final thanks to goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford. It was a momentous day at Wembley - and Erik ten Hag will be keen for a repeat in the world's oldest cup competition come June.

United secured a 3-1 win over Everton in the third-round before comfortably beating Reading to reach this stage of the FA Cup. They know a victory over David Moyes' West Ham will take them into the last-eight for the eighth successive season - but Ten Hag is starting to build a winning mentality and they will want to go all the way.

Ten Hag's side have to get past a stern test in West Ham before they think about that - but how could they line-up to face the Hammers after a gruelling couple of weeks?

It is anticipated that the Dutchman will make changes to his starting XI for the game given their action-packed fixture schedule. The Red Devils overcame Barcelona in a mentally and physically draining Europa League two-legged last-32 tie, while also securing a league win over Leicester and lifting the Carabao Cup in the space of four matches.

United boss Ten Hag doesn't tend to make too many alterations, but he may have to for the clash with the Hammers to freshen his pack. Despite this, David de Gea is expected to start in goal once again as he aims to keep yet another clean sheet following an impressive performance on Sunday.

Meanwhile, at the back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to come into the side after being replaced by Diogo Dalot in the XI to face Newcastle. Luke Shaw might need a well-deserved rest following a series of superb displays, with Tyrell Malacia an excellent replacement at left-back in his absence.

Then, in central defence, it could be all change with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof coming back into the fold. Raphael Varane has had to have his minutes managed in recent months to cater his injury concerns, while Lisandro Martinez may be handed a rest after excelling against Barcelona and Newcastle.

Moving into midfield and Marcel Sabitzer could be recalled into midfield, with either Fred or Casemiro dropping out. As the latter is vitally important to the way United play, he may well stay in the XI to give Fred a breather. Ahead of the double-pivot is set to be Jadon Sancho, who has impressed in the No.10 role since his return.

Across the forward line and the dilemma surrounding whether Marcus Rashford starts feels a massive one. The 24-year-old has been in superb form in recent weeks, but given his injury scare against Barcelona, it makes sense for Ten Hag to name him on the bench to ensure he doesn't overdo himself.

This means that Alejandro Garnacho would start from the left-hand side, while Antony is set to keep his place on the right with Wout Weghorst through the middle.
