Manchester United have played in a behind-closed-doors friendly less than 24 hours after their loss to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Red Devils got their season off to the worst possible start with a defeat at Old Trafford in Erik ten Hag's first game in charge, but have continued to prepare their squad for upcoming season by taking on National League side Halifax Town.
Minutes were given to first-team players who enjoyed little action on Sunday - or didn't feature at all. Cristiano Ronaldo was named on the bench on Sunday before being introduced at half-time amid uncertainty over his future. It is unclear as to whether the Portuguese star featured on Monday.
A reported line-up saw Raphael Varane and Eric Bailly partnered at the centre of defence. The former was left on the bench against Brighton whilst Bailly, who has been linked with the exit door all summer, didn't feature.
Both defenders reportedly got on the scoresheet with youngster James Garner, who is being tipped for more involvement, also notching. Amad, who spent last season on loan at Rangers, grabbed a brace with the non league outfit getting a consolation from the spot. Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga are rumoured to have started.
Ten Hag had seen his side get off to an impressive start in pre-season as their preparations began with a win over Liverpool. However they ended poorly with a draw against Rayo Vallecano and a defeat to Atletico Madrid. Their reverse at the hands of the Seagulls has copped early criticism, but the Dutchman remains defiant and is sticking to his process.

He said on Sunday: ''Disappointed, it is clear. We of course had other expectations but that happens and this is also a process, it takes time and we have to work really hard. This result was unnecessary.' I knew before this is not easy to construct it, to develop it, to build it. This takes time - I know this - and I also know in this job you do not have time, you have to deliver. We are aware of the situation.'
''That is what we have to do, we have to deal with the setback and we have to learn from the mistakes and we have to move forward. We have to deal with it and I knew from the start that it would not to be easy, it takes time but you don't have time and we have to win games.''
On Ronaldo's fitness he added: ''It takes time. We cannot force it and one week in training, a little bit more now, he has to do more to get fit and this game will help him. The 35 to 40 minutes he had now and now we have one week and he will be better next week.''
