Man Utd news: Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek transfer details as investment hint given

Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek have both been offered escape routes out of Manchester United after struggling to make an impact on the first team this season.

Van de Beek has now been linked with January loan moves with two clubs interested in signing the Dutchman, while Martial has sealed his loan move to Sevilla.

French striker Martial has had quite the downfall at United following his £36million arrival in 2015 – but a decision on his long-term future is yet to be made.

And comments on what needs to happen at Old Trafford for Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe to invest in the club have re-emerged.

Investment hint

Comments from Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe on what Man United must do before he'll buy them have re-emerged.

Sir Jim, a lifelong United supporter, is worth an estimated £10.88billion and has already invested in sailing, cycling, athletics, F1, rugby and football.

French club Nice, one of the clubs he owns, have this week been linked with doing United a transfer market favour in their pursuit of Red Devils midfielder Jesse Lingard, which has led to Sir Jim's past comments about the club he supports re-emerging.

There's little doubt Sir Jim would love to invest in the club he loves – but they must do one thing first.

Van de Beek arrived at the club in a £40million move in the summer of 2020, but has failed to hold down a place in the United first XI.

The former Ajax star struggled under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – and the same problems are reoccurring for him under Ralf Rangnick.

Martial's United downfall

Anthony Martial has sealed his loan move away from Manchester United after demanding a move earlier this season.

The Frenchman was dubbed the "next Thierry Henry" when he rocked up at Old Trafford in 2015, but has had something of a fall from grace since then.

Despite making a dream start at the club, Martial's downfall has seen the Frenchman was "conning" the Red Devils with his performances, private texts to former boss Solskjaer and his recent demands to leave.
