Manchester United have requested information from Brighton regarding Moises Caicedo's future as they eye a potential swoop.
Red Devils’ boss Erik ten Hag is keen to add to his midfield options ahead of next term, with a number of exits anticipated. A potential target for the upcoming window could be Brighton star Caicedo.
The Ecuadorian played a key role for the Seagulls this term as they secured a place in the Europa League under Roberto De Zerbi. They have already lost Alexis Mac Allister - the Argentine completing a £45m move to Liverpool - and could soon bid farewell to Caicedo.
According to Sky Sports, Man United have requested to be “kept informed” on any developments regarding the 21-year-old’s future at the Amex Stadium. He has plenty of admirers heading into the summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea were strongly linked in January before Caicedo committed to a new contract with Brighton. That has not silenced rumours of an exit though.
His agent, Manuel Sierra, has hinted that plenty of clubs are chasing his client, whilst he would also be open to a move to a club in the Champions League. Speaking last month, Sierra said: “He’s having an incredible season, so it’s normal that there are many clubs interested in him. Now he’s completely focused on the last part of the season; all evaluations will be postponed until the summer.

“This is not a surprise because there aren’t many other midfielders so young and talented around Europe. I believe he can really improve in every aspect of the game. He can slot into any [team] as he is ready for it all. His dream is to play in the Champions League and to reach as far as he can in football.”
Meanwhile, Brighton boss De Zerbi also hinted that a number of players could be on the way out of the Amex this summer. “I don’t know what will happen next season but I think if you want to improve your team, you have to decide (make plans) before the next season, the Italian said.
“I think we will lose some important players and we have to be ready to restart stronger than this season.”
Away from Caicedo, United also have a host of other midfield targets. It is suggested that they will firm up their interest in Chelsea’s Mason Mount with a formal bid soon.
They are determined not to overpay for him though as talks continue between the two clubs. West Ham's Declan Rice is also being considered by the Red Devils but the price that the Hammers will demand for his services could see them drop out of the race.
