Manchester United have devised a plan that could see them land West Ham star Declan Rice before Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window. The two sides have been heavily linked with a switch for the Hammers captain, who enters the final year of his contract.
football.london understands that Declan Rice is a top priority for Arsenal this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to revamp his own midfield ranks. A whole host of other midfielders have also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, including the likes of Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount and Ilkay Gundogan.
Those deals are expected to be pursued following an exit for Granit Xhaka, who seems set to leave Arsenal after seven-years at the club. Bayer Leverkusen are heavily linked with a switch as the Switzerland international all but confirmed his farewell in the final game of the season against Wolves, where he scored a brace in front of a grateful Emirates Stadium atmosphere.

There's little time for sentiment in the transfer window though as the Gunners look to plan their next step in their return to the top. Rice is viewed as one of those options to progress as the Daily Mail claims that the north London outfit are set to lodge a £90million bid for the 24-year-old.
The England international is set to reject a move to Bayern Munich too, says the report, amid interest with a switch to Germany from former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel. There's still competition for the midfielder's signature though as Manchester United are monitoring a move.
The report adds that United are looking at the possibility of including players in a swap deal for Rice, with Scott McTominay touted as an option. That could help tip things in the favour of the Red Devils, though it remains to be seen if the project at Arsenal could win over come the end.
