Man Utd and Liverpool fans make Arsenal and Gabriel Jesus VAR plea amid Darwin Nunez red card

Manchester United and Liverpool fans have urged for Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus to be banned following an alleged kick out in the Gunners' clash with the Red Devils on Sunday. Footage appeared to show the Brazilian swiping at the legs of Lisandro Martinez after receiving a nudge from him on the ground.

It comes after the side were left frustrated in Manchester, losing their unbeaten run and 100% winning start to the new campaign. Despite that, they still performed well as Bukayo Saka levelled the game in response to Antony's opener.

Two sucker punches on the counter followed as Marcus Rashford scored a brace to dash hopes of a stunning comeback from Mikel Arteta's side. After the game, he said: "Very disappointed that we haven’t won the game because the game was there for the taking. We haven’t won it because we lacked discipline in certain moments to defend certain actions, and we weren’t ruthless enough in their box."

Next up for the Gunners is a trip to Switzerland to face FC Zurich in the Europa League, with a home match against Everton on Sunday the following game in the Premier League. However, some rivals fans are hoping that Gabriel Jesus won't be available for that match through suspension.

That's because video footage appears to show the 25-year-old kicking out at Martinez with a swipe at his legs after being stepped on by him. @manusupporter94 on Twitter said: "How is that not a retrospective 3 game ban for violent conduct?"

Meanwhile Liverpool supporters have compared the situation to that of striker Darwin Nunez, who has red carded for reacting to Joachim Andersen and headbutted him in front of the referee. The Uruguayan striker received a three-match ban for violent conduct, with fans believing that Jesus should receive the same.

While there is no current discussion surrounding a subsequent check on the incident, it currently seems unlikely that Jesus will be banned. However, there may need to be caution in the future surrounding reacting to others to avoid such an incident reoccurring, with Martinez showing to Premier League rivals exactly how Jesus can be riled up.
