Manchester United are on an impressive run under Erik ten Hag and in a great position to progress in the FA Cup as they welcome a Reading side who are experiencing inconsistent form in the Championship. An upset is still on the cards but Ten Hag's players have been producing some quality football we have not seen from Old Trafford in years and with the club achieving a solid aggregate lead in the EFL Cup, they could well field a strong side against Paul Ince's team.
United are the heavy favourites going into this cup tie at 1/8 with Betfred while Reading are 16/1 for a cupset and a draw is 13/2. Three of the last four meetings between the two sides have come in the FA Cup with United winning all four meetings and conceding just once. The Royals have not beaten United in 16 meetings in all competitions with their last win coming in this competition in 1927.
Former United midfielder Ince returned to management eight years after he was sacked as Blackpool boss in January 2014 when he took over as caretaker manager at Reading before making it permanent in May last year. He currently has a win percentage of 40% but is showing slow progression in the Championship with the Royals currently 14th having finished 21st last season.
