Manchester United host Manchester City in the first Manchester derby of the Premier League season.
Michael Carrick’s first game of his caretaker spell came in this fixture in January, when he oversaw a superb win over Pep Guardiola’s team.
Having now earned the job on a permanent basis, Carrick is now tasked with building United towards a title challenge – but four points from the first three games is an underwhelming start.
Enzo Maresca will get his first taste of the derby as Manchester City manager, with the Italian enjoying a fine start to life at the Etihad so far with three wins from win in the league.
Can Maresca make it an excellent opening period for City and hand United another early set-back? Here’s everything you need to know

Confirmed line-ups
Man United XI: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Dorgu; Mainoo, Tielemans; Cunha, Fernandes, Rashford; Mbeumo.
Man City XI: Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol; Anderson, Fernandez; Foden, Cherki, Semenyo; Haaland
What is the team news?
Marcus Rashford comes into the side for Benjamin Sesko despite the Slovenian’s good form, moving Bryan Mbeumo into striker. Patrick Dorgu once again fills in at left-back, like he did in the Champions League in midweek, with Luke Shaw yet to make full fitness.
Just the one change for Enzo Maresca’s side from the side that beat Porto in the Champions League, with Elliot Anderson starting in place of Ayyoub Bouaddi. Had things gone differently in the summer, he could have been playing in red today. Nico O’Reilly is on the bench and Jeremy Doku remains sidelined. Matheus Nunes returned from injury in midweek and starts.
