Manchester United secured an important victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night, with Fred and Bruno Fernandes both getting on the scoresheet for the home side.
The Reds responded well following their 0-0 draw with Newcastle United at the weekend. Erik ten Hag's side secured a 2-0 victory over Spurs and closed the gap on the Premier League top four - moving just one point behind Chelsea in fourth.
United face a hectic schedule before the season pauses for the World Cup in Qatar, which continues on Saturday as the Reds travel to Stamford Bridge to face off against Chelsea in the Premier League. The meeting with the London outfit will mark the team's fifth game in less than two weeks, highlighting how busy October is proving to be.

Ten Hag's men will compete in three different competitions before the break in the campaign, with the Reds in Premier League, Europa League and EFL Cup action. Putting the two cup competitions to one side, MEN Sport has taken a close look at United's next six league fixtures, two of which come in November, and compared them with those of their fellow expected top-four challengers.
Manchester United - 5th (19pts)
- Chelsea (A) - October 22
- West Ham United (H) - October 30
- Aston Villa (A) - November 6
- Fulham (A) - November 13
- Nottingham Forest (H) - December 26
- Wolves (A) - December 31
Verdict: With four away matches, it promises to be a challenging couple of months for the Reds, and Ten Hag will certainly know a lot more about his players come the new year. This weekend's clash with Chelsea looks to be, on paper, United's most difficult challenge, but the other five sides will also be desperate to take points off United.
United need to ensure that, when the players depart for international duty in Qatar, the club remain in a good position in the Premier League table. The home match against West Ham is bound to be a tough game, and the away matches against Aston Villa and Fulham will certainly not be easy.
