Manchester United Women striker Alessia Russo netted twice as England romped to a 5-0 win over Northern Ireland in their final Group A match of Euro 2022 in Southampton.
The Lionesses had already qualified for the knockout rounds before the game but the absent Sarina Wiegman - who missed the clash after testing positive for Covid - named an unchanged line-up.
It meant Russo started from the bench, but she made the most of her minutes, doubling England’s lead to 4-0 just eight minutes after coming on at half-time.
However, she will rue not snatching her hat-trick after missing a gilt-edged chance minutes from the end, heading over from six yards.
Fran Kirby and Beth Mead had netted just before the break to hand the hosts a two-goal cushion before an own goal from Northern Ireland's Kelsie Burrows on 75 minutes capped a professional performance from England.
United goalkeeper Mary Earps completed her third successive game of the tournament while Manchester City Women stars Keira Walsh, Lauren Hemp and Ellen White began from the start.
Chloe Kelly entered the pitch on the hour for Hemp as Alex Greenwood and United’s Ella Toone played a full 45 minutes in the second period. Barcelona-bound Lucy Bronze was replaced on 74 minutes while Demi Stokes was left on the bench alongside Jill Scott.
England have netted 14 goals without reply in the group stages, which included Monday’s historic 8-0 thrashing of Norway. They are joined in the knockouts by Austria, who beat Norway 1-0 to advance.
The tournament favourites will discover their last eight opponents tomorrow as Spain and Denmark battle for the second Group B qualification spot with Germany secure in top spot.
