Man United injury update: Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho return dates and latest news

Manchester United have been rocked by an injury to Marcus Rashford as the race for a top-four finish heats up.

United have recorded back-to-back wins - against Brentford and Everton - to boost their chances of Champions League qualification, but in doing so have lost both Luke Shaw and Rashford to injury. The striker has suffered a groin injury and has undergone scans.

It’s not all bad news, though, as Christian Eriksen is back after almost three months out and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is back to match fitness.

Here’s the latest on Manchester United injuries.

Marcus Rashford

Rashford limped out of United's 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday after pointing to his groin and asking to be substituted.

He has already been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla and the club expect Rashford to be sidelined for a few weeks.

A statement read: “Subsequent assessment of the injury suggested that Marcus will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in ... in the final weeks of the season.”

Ten Hag added: “It’s a setback and he’s disappointed, but he’s not totally broken because he will return quickly.”

Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw was withdrawn during the first half of last week’s win over Brentford with an unknown injury, though was able to walk off the pitch and down the tunnel in a seemingly positive sign.

The left-back missed the win at Everton and is a doubt to face Sevilla. Ten Hag said this week: “I expect Luke Shaw back on shorter notice [than Garnacho]."

Alejandro Garnacho

The youngster has been one of the most eye-catching stories of the season at United, but an ankle injury has curtailed his progress.

Ten Hag told reporters this week: “Definitely the injury of Garnacho is more severe [than Shaw].”

Tom Heaton

The goalkeeper has been sidelined for a number of weeks with an ankle injury.

Donny van de Beek

The midfielder has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
