Manchester United face a fight to qualify for next season’s Champions League both domestically and in Europe.
Erik ten Hag’s side threw away a two-goal lead against Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final and remain locked in a battle with Tottenham and Newcastle for the top four.
While there have been clear signs of progress for the club this season, they have little margin for error on both fronts and the injury problems are starting to mount.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest on Manchester United injuries.
Lisandro Martinez
The Argentina was carried off the pitch by international teammates Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel after a Martinez went down off the ball with what looked a serious problem.
While ten Hag would not comment further, Martinez has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Potential return date: Summer 2023
Raphael Varane
Varane was also forced off on Thursday and ten Hag has revealed the Frenchman had been complaining about a problem for a while now.
The Frenchman has duly been ruled out for the next few games.
Potential return date: April 2023
Marcus Rashford
United’s leading light in an attacking sense this season, Rashford has been ruled out of the next “few games”.
Potential return date: May 2023
Scott McTominay
The Scotland international missed the draw with Sevilla but could return against Forest.
Potential return date: April 16 2023
Luke Shaw
Like McTominay, ten Hag is confident of having Shaw available for the trip to Forest after his return injury.
Potential return date: April 16 2023
Alejandro Garnacho
Garnacho has enjoyed something of a breakout season for United but suffered an ankle injury against Southampton in February.
Potential return date: April/May 2023
Donny van de Beek
The Dutchman suffered a serious knee injury earlier this season and will not play again until the summer.
