Man tries to make full cooked breakfast in slow cooker and ends up with 'soulless eggs'

A man who tried to make a full cooked breakfast in a slow cooker says he created 'soulless eggs' that came straight from the 'pits of hell' . Smyth Harper recently took on the challenge in his new slow cooker and he says it was a culinary adventure of mixed success.

The budding chef purchased a slow cooker amidst a strong trend of people looking for energy effective ways to cook their food amidst spiralling energy costs.

Smyth decided to take on a full cooked breakfast in his fresh piece of tech after seeing a number of people attempting it online, reports Manchester Evening News. He also referred to a social media post from B&M which taught customers how to make a Full English Breakfast in a slow cooker.

Smyth shared his journey on social media as he went through the process of cooking his meal. He said: "We recently succumbed to the hype and bought a slow cooker. We’ve had very good results with chicken curry, pulled beef and hearty stews, so I thought I’d give a full English the slow cooker treatment."

In his Facebook post, Smyth was impressed with short prep time of his breakfast taking just five minutes. In that time, he rolled up a few pieces of bacon along the sides of the slow cooker and added in an egg with a dollop of butter in a cup.

After that, he then added in a couple of hash browns, a few pieces of black pudding before finally placing in baked beans in a mug in his device. Smyth then turned on the slow cooker before heading to bed, excited to see the results in the morning.

He said: "The smell this morning was good... And you can see that the final result ~ looks ~ amazing. But looks can be deceiving because will we be doing this again? No. No, no, no."

Despite his harsh verdict, he did state the sausages and bacon tasted "lush". However, the black pudding was "hard and lacking in flavour".

Smyth failed to give any points to the beans, who didn't deserve to grace his plate. He added: "Beans have no place on a breakfast plate and impossible to get wrong, so meh."

The beans and black pudding weren't the only items on the plate to get a blasting, with the hash browns and eggs getting particularly harsh treatment. Smyth said: "Two of the hash browns were like eating shards of glass laced with diamond dust; the other two had collapsed into mush.

"But oh my god, the eggs. The eggs were cooked, but the process changed them from the burst of sunshine they should bring to every breakfast plate to a horrifying mix of green and grey. Somehow, their soul had been removed.

"As I put them in the bin I could hear the screams of the damned from the portal of hell whence they came. I had to scramble some fresh eggs in the traditional style."

After gaining some correctly coloured eggs on his plate, the chef gave his final verdict on the Full English cooked in his slow cooker. Smyth said: "In conclusion, some of it was delicious, some of it was edible, some of it was beans, and some of it was an abomination in the eyes of god and men.

"This was an interesting fresh take on what really is the nearest thing the English have to a cuisine, but I’m afraid the score is a hard 4/10. Don’t bother."
