Police and paramedics have been at the scene and Heol y Barna has been closed while investigations into the crash continue. One man, who was riding the motorcycle, has been taken to a Cardiff hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said on Tuesday: “Shortly after 7.50am emergency services were called following a road traffic collision between a car and a motorcycle on Heol y Barna, Pontarddulais, at its junction with the A48. The male motorcyclist has been taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. His injuries are described as life-changing. The road remains closed while investigations continue. Motorists are advise to take alternative routes.”
