A man has been taken to hospital after a serious assault in a Scots town.
The 39-year-old man was attacked at Beach Lane in Musselburgh, East Lothian, at around 10.20pm on Saturday July 16.
Police said inquiries were continuing into the serious assault.
However it is understood the victim has since been released from hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious assault at Beach Lane, Musselburgh at around 10.20pm on Saturday, 16 July.
"Officers attended and a 39-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Inquiries are ongoing.”
