A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an incident at a circus in Devon yesterday. It is believed the incident occurred during the daredevil performance at Exmouth Circus Funtasia on Wednesday (July 13) whereby motorcyclists ride as fast as they can inside a metal sphere.
Two land ambulances, two hazardous area response teams, as well as police cars and the Devon Air Ambulance were called to the seaside town's Imperial Recreation Ground. Circus Funtasia had been entertaining the crowds this week with ambitious stunts when there was a crash involving one of their performers, reports DevonLive.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has confirmed that one man has sustained serious injuries and remains at Derriford Hospital in Devon. A scene guard is also in place on site.

The police spokesperson said: "Police were notified by ambulance at 7.40pm yesterday, 14 July, following an incident at a circus in Exmouth. Two motorcycles are believed to have been involved in a collision during a performance at the venue in Imperial Recreation Ground.
"One man has sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital. A scene guard is in place at the venue. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed about the incident.
