Man suffers head injury after being hit by Mercedes on The Strand

A man is in hospital after suffering a head injury after being hit by Mercedes on The Strand.

Merseyside Police were called to Strand Street, near the junction of James Street in Liverpool City Centre at 4.30pm on Wednesday, May 17, following reports of a crash. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a man in his 20s had been hit by a black Mercedes car on the road.

The pedestrian suffered a head injury and minor graze to hand. He took himself to hospital to get checked over.

The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.

"Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 767 of 17 May."
