Man stayed in abandoned building until he was starving to escape abuse

A man would run away to an abandoned building in Wales until he was starving to escape his abusive childhood.

Nathan Dunne, 27, from Bebington, Wirral, told how he would wait until he could no longer bare the hunger pains before going back home when he was a child. The PTSD (post traumatic stress) from his childhood also meant he considered taking his own life when he was just seven years old.

Nathan said: "My childhood was very difficult with lots of traumatic experiences. My mother was on drugs, my father was in and out of jail and I was subjected to lots of abuse. I was in and out of foster care, some good, some bad, and I would often run away. Some of the things that happened to me as a child are unspeakable and I remember wanting to kill myself — even at seven years of age."
