Gardai were last night probing if a Finglas man’s murder was connected to drugs.
Brian Hogan, who was in his late 30s, was stabbed to death on Collins Place after 7pm. A woman, who is close to the victim, suffered hand injuries.
Two men, who are also in their 30s were arrested in connection with the killing and were taken to Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda stations for questioning. Officers believed a row broke out among a number of people before Mr Hogan was stabbed.

Detectives do not believe the killing was feud related but may have been linked to drugs. A source said: “It is very early days but gardai think it could be drugs related.
“What exactly the issue was isn’t known yet, whether it was over a debt or whatever. But it could be related to a personal row. These facts will be established on that in the next few days.
“But it doesn’t look to be related to any ongoing feuds at the moment across West Dublin. The two men in custody are known to gardai.”
A blue forensic tent was put up last night ahead of the Garda Technical Bureau’s examination this morning. Last night, Fianna Fail Cllr Keith Connolly said he was not aware of the details of the case but condemned the second murder in the capital yesterday.
He told the Irish Mirror: “I condemn the stabbing, the second in North Dublin in the space of 24 hours. I would also like to pass my condolences onto the deceased family and friends and appeal to anyone with information to contact Finglas Garda station.”
A garda spokesman said: ”Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and they are currently being detained at Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.”
